Background of the Study

Peer groups, particularly youth political organizations, are influential in shaping the political attitudes and behaviors of young people (Okoro & Haruna, 2023). In Kontagora LGA, Niger State, youth political organizations have become key platforms for political engagement and awareness, often encouraging young people to develop strong political views and participate in electoral processes (Sani & Umaru, 2024). These organizations offer a space for political discussion, mobilization, and advocacy, and are often seen as significant agents of political socialization for youth. However, the specific impact of these peer groups on the political attitudes of young people in Kontagora LGA remains under-researched (Aliyu & Idris, 2023). This study investigates the influence of youth political organizations on political attitudes in Kontagora LGA, focusing on their role in shaping the political views and behaviors of their members.
